ADRIA TENNOR
ACTOR | WRITER | FILMMAKER
Hi, I’m Adria
A character chameleon who got her first big break playing a 12-year-old boy in Hal Hartley’s Amateur (which premiered in the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes)…
Since then, I’ve made a career of transforming from the unassuming girl next door into someone you probably shouldn’t trust: dealing questionable items out of her living room, murdering a polygamist, or baking her cheating husband’s penis into a cherry pie.
I knew I wanted to be an actress since the day my grandma took me to see “Annie” at the Fisher Theater in Detroit when I was six.
That journey involved honing my craft, studying acting and directing at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and with teachers like Larry Moss, Tom Todoroff, and the late, great Freddie Karemen — and I’m still at it.
Because when you’re a chameleon, there’s always another skin to slip into.
Press and Media Highlights:

On Screen & Backstage
I bounce between scene-stealing TV staples (hello, Mad Men’s sharp-tongued Joyce Darling) and Oscar-winner The Artist (yes, I’m Zimmer’s ever-efficient assistant, wrangling chaos with a smile).
I also wrote and toured my one-woman show StripSearch (think pole-dancing meets existential comedy) and went on to write, direct and produce festival darling Pie (the award-winning festival darling that left audiences and critics hungry for more).
